Mark Leary, Owner and Publisher of MMG Publishing, has announced that the Electronics Sourcing North America (ESNA) and Designing Electronics North America (DENA) magazines, plus associated products, have been acquired by WMG Publishing Limited, a company owned and run by his son William.
WMG is known to focus more on North America, and as such, the acquisition has resulted in Electronics Sourcing Europe and Electronics Sourcing UK ceasing publication, with December 2025 being the last edition.
With the UK and European editions of Electronics Sourcing accounting for a small fraction of MMG’s sales income, the acquisition presents the move to concentrate efforts on MMG’s key US targeted print magazines and digital products, whilst closing the European side of the business.
Despite the change in ownership, continuity remains central to WMG’s plans. Mark Leary will continue as Publisher, while Jonathan Barrett and Max Maxfield will retain their editorial responsibilities for ESNA and DENA respectively. Publishing schedules, circulations, and all current advertising and editorial bookings will remain unchanged, with the January 2026 editions of both titles set to be published under the WMG banner.
As Mark hands over ownership to his son (good luck getting your expenses signed off Mark), the transition marks a significant moment in the history of the Electronics Sourcing brand, seeing the brand move under the leadership of the next generation, and setting the stage for a new and fresh approach with the publications moving forward.
