Developing Microsite to Promote a Coding Standard
Client: PRQA
Objective: To mark the 10th anniversary and launch of a new version of PRQA’s HIC++, one of the longest established coding standards for c++ programming language, Napier was challenged to build an entirely new website, replacing PRQA’s previous codingstandard.com site to include their updated standard.
Activities: Using WordPress, Napier developed a site that enabled developers to either request the entire coding standard as a PDF, or access the standard as an interactive and engaging document, where they can browse, search or navigate by category. Napier was also tasked with designing a website that moved away from the corporate template, to a layout that strikes a balance between independence of the HIC++ coding standard and familiarity of the PRQA brand.
Results: Since launching the newly updated codingstandard.com site, the number of average monthly downloads has increased tenfold. Additionally, traffic to the site has increased by an even greater factor as developers take advantage of the browsable HTML.
