Reed Electronics Group has launched Product Showcase eNewsletters tied to EPN and CIE. Apparently this idea of sending subscribers an email that consists only of ads is in fact “paid for product news emailed to a requested / opt-in email database”!

Targeting a pan-European audience is pretty cost effective – working out at just over €51 per thousand for the 22K circulation, but the CIE email – with only 5.5K recipients – is more than twice as costly per recipient, at over €136 per thousand. Ouch!
