Bodo Arlt, previously the editor of Power Systems Design Europe (PSDE) has announced the new, rather modestly-titled “Bodo’s Power Systems“. The split seems to be rather less than amicable, with the bizzare news that both titles will feature the same editorial in their June issues: probably not something that will endear the titles to readers!

We can’t know exactly what happened, but we just don’t see this as being a great move for the industry. The European electronics media is traditionally fragmented by language, with few pan-European vertical titles able to survive. We just can’t see the market being able to support a third English-language power title, and would expect that the biggest winner in all the confusion might be Power Electronics Europe and perhaps also a couple of lawyers!
