Pro-Talk, the Centaur-owned publishers of Electronicstalk is to launch a German-language site called Techniktalk. A big difference with the carefully segmented English-language sites run by Pro-Talk is that Techniktalk will cover a number of subjects, such as manufacturing, engineering, electronics and processing. Will this work? Maybe. Much of the current Pro-Talk traffic comes from their very aggressive SEO campaign, but clearly by having much more general coverage, the site will me more difficult to optimize for search engines (as there will be so many more relevant search terms), and will be less interesting as a vertical portal. Despite this, Pro-Talk have a great record of launching new sites, and promise a big promotion campaign this month, so we wouldn’t bet against the site being successful. Don’t forget to keep checking back for more news about this and all other European electronics media.
