I am constantly impressed with the clever ways that the organisers of National Electronics Week make me want to attend the event. It’s a good show, but it’s the extra effort they put in that really impresses me. Richard Noble – who has broken three speed records and is heading up the Bloodhound project – was a huge draw, and in 2011 the event has been cleverly scheduled alongside the Gadget Show Live. The organisers even have 5000 free tickets enabling visitors to NEW to gain entry to the Gadget Show Live’s exclusive trade and press day, taking place on 12th April.
Running trade shows in the UK is a huge challenge, and it needs a creative approach to get engineers out of their offices. I hope this clever move helps convince engineers and purchasers in the UK to try visiting a show, and that they find out that meeting suppliers at events is a valuable exercise.
NEW 2011 will be held on 12th – 13th April at the NEC Pavilion in Birmingham, UK.
