Assodel (Italian Association of Electronic Suppliers) is changing the editorial focus of their popular Design-In publication and relaunching it as Lighting Efficiency Design-In. The magazine will now concentrate on three key topics:Solid State Lighting (SSL) and LED-related technology; Photovoltaic (PV) applications; and Energy Efficiency in power applications. Circulation remains 7.500 copies, and the title will be published six times a year.
The move is an interesting one. The new editorial focus will address some of the hottest topics in electronics technology, and with iSuppli recently predicting that the number of PV installations in Italy will double to 3.9 GW in 2011, Lighting Efficiency Design-In is clearly playing to some of the strengths of the Italian electronics industry. I do hope, however, that the association will ensure it covers all aspects of the electronics industry. Of course A&V Elettronica continues to provide a management view of the industry, and perhaps this move will be the opportunity for A&V to raise its profile.
