You can’t keep a good editor down! After a very brief spell working on titles for other industries, Tim Fryer has returned to electronics with his appointment as deputy editor of New Electronics. It’s still a couple of weeks until Tim starts, but it’s good to see him back in the electronics industry: “extensive” really doesn’t do his experience justice, as he edited Electronic Product Design from 2008 to 2011, was was editor of Electronics Manufacture & Test from 1995 and started out in the industry way back in 1986 on Electronics Showcase (am I the only one who remembers that title?).

It’s also good to see that Findlay has moved quickly to replace Simon Fogg, who left New Electronics at the end of November: the appointment of Tim will probably have the biggest impact on Graham Pitcher, the group editor, who is also a key part of making Findlay’s Electronics Design Show a success.
