It’s hard to believe that the Wireless Congress: Systems & Applications, which opened its doors for the first time two decades ago in 2004, has reached its 20th edition. As we take a step back in time to those early years, it becomes apparent just how far the wireless world has come since then. The growth and evolution of wireless technology have been nothing short of remarkable, and this year’s Wireless Congress promises to be a celebration of these advancements.

Back in 2004, wireless technology was still finding its footing, with many applications still emerging.  Short Range Wireless Networks like Bluetooth, IEEE802.15.4, and ZigBee were on the horizon, while 3G networks like UMTS had just started their roll-outs. The introduction of the IEEE802.11g standard marked a significant moment in the evolution of Wireless LAN, offering data rates of 54 Mbit/s. Meanwhile, the importance of Wi-Fi security was becoming increasingly evident as technology opened up new possibilities and challenges.

Fast forward to today, and the 20th Wireless Congress is a testament to the progress we’ve witnessed in the wireless landscape. Taking place on November 7th and 8th in Munich, the event is a hub for sharing knowledge about the latest wireless technologies and applications; and a chance to gather insights from experts who are shaping the future of wireless. The 20th Wireless Congress program also promises two days of discussions, presentations, and workshops that delve into the forefront of wireless technology.

Expanding the scope of the event, this year’s show incorporates a tabletop exhibition, showcasing new products and systems, accompanied by captivating demonstrations. This platform provides an opportunity for innovators and businesses to share their solutions with the audience.

Napier would like to wish Wireless Congress: Systems & Applications a Happy 20th Birthday- enjoy the party.
