A familiar face has joined the Electronic Specifier team as experienced electronics journalist and communications professional Mark Gradwell takes up the role of Contributing Editor.
Mark brings nearly 25 years of copywriting and editorial experience spanning corporate marketing, specialist PR, and trade media. He previously spent more than a decade in UK and European marketing roles at test and measurement company NI before two separate stints in agency life. Most recently, he served for six years as Editor of Electronic Product Design & Test (EPDT), overseeing the publication’s print, digital, and social content.
In his new role, Mark will contribute across the Electronic Specifier portfolio, with a particular focus on Electronic Specifier and Procurement Pro. A lifelong STEM enthusiast, he is especially passionate about helping engineers communicate the often-underappreciated role their work plays in tackling some of society’s biggest challenges.
Paige Hookway, Managing Editor at Electronic Specifier, said: “Mark and I have known each other for more than 10 years and I’ve long admired how he combines deep technical understanding with genuine storytelling instincts. To finally be able to work together feels brilliant.”
Mark added, “Electronics is one of the most fascinating and impactful sectors in which to ply my trade. Engineers do amazing work that often doesn’t receive the attention and credit it deserves and I’m excited to help tell those stories.”
Mark will be scouting the aisles for interesting stories at European Microwave Week, Microelectronics UK, and electronica over the coming months. When he isn’t talking technology, you’re most likely to find him at a gig, watching football, out for a run, or enjoying a well-earned beer. A warm welcome back to the editorial fold from all your friends at Napier, Mark!
