Short lived, but generating huge interest, Lycos Europe’s Make Love Not Spam project promised to attack sites of known spammers by bombarding them with requests from idle PCs. Whether this project will have any long-term effect on either spam or on legitimate email marketing is debatable, but BBC news quoting Lycos Europe as wanting to stimulate debate about anti-spam measures, something which the project has clearly achieved.
