Europe continues to ignore the often-reported “death of magazines” with the news that MMG Publishing will launch Electronics Sourcing Europe magazine in November, with extra distribution at Electronica.

The title will be published bi-monthly and we’re told it will have an impresive circulation to over 25,000 purchasing professionals across Europe. The magazine also promises that the “some larger editions or major trade show previews will be published in multiple languages”, something that we’re sure will be welcomed by the readers on continental Europe who are frustrated by the inevitability of English being used in any pan-European publication.

I’m really pleased to see that there is still confidence in an European electronics media, and clearly money to support it! The approach of specifically targeting purchasers has proved very successful for MMG in the UK, and I hope that the European publication will not only sustain the larger circulation and higher distribution costs, but also prove that publishing in Europe can still be a very profitable business.
