I was not surprised to see the results of the recent PRSourceCode survey that showed that more than 90% of tech journalists and bloggers still prefer email for communication, despite the increasing hype over using social media tools to reach them. I’m not surprised by the fact that email is the medium of choice, but the strength of preference – amongst an American sample, where you’d assume Twitter would be more popular than in Europe – is very compelling.
It was also interesting to that us PR professionals are doing something right – the journalists and bloggers said that the vast majority of their stories come from proactive pitches by PR people.
