A sign of how fast the publishing industry is changing is that only a few years ago we were worrying about auditing website traffic, and now this is “old technology”. In the last few years apps have emerged from nowhere to become a major source of web traffic for some sites, and now the ABC has launched metrics for traffic driven by apps. The new metrics follow the introduction of reporting of digital editions of magazines and newspapers delivered to iPads, which were introduced at the start of the year.
