AGS Media, publisher of Power Systems Design has appointed Joshua Israelsohn as Editor-in-Chief of the magazine’s North America edition and of powersystemsdesign.com. Joshua has extensive experience, having held various editorial roles in his 25-year industry career, including writing for EDN magazine’s worldwide editions, ECN China and Asia, EPN magazine (Europe), and to PowerPulse.net and Techbites.com websites.
Since 2007, Joshua has been Director of Editorial and Training Services at JAS Technical Media, which he founded with Steven Worth. He will continue to maintain his involvement with the company in a reduced capacity: a move that reflects the increasing commercialisation of editors in our industry, and must raise some concerns about his ability to maintain complete editorial independence as he continues working with clients in the industry.
Perhaps the best think about the announcement was Joshua’s focus on the fact that he has been a long-time reader of PSD – it’s good that someone who values the electronics media is spending more time writing for those publications.
The appointment of Joshua should be a good move for PSD – until this appointment Cliff Keys has been responsible for producing both the European and US editions, a challenge that is going to stretch any editor.
