Normally a title like this, and a social media storyline might make me worry. The new Elektor Projects website, however, is a truly impressive venture. The site aims to allow the suggestion of ideas for electronics projects, the best of which will then be developed by a selected group of designers into the projects that are familiar to Elektor readers.
It’s a simple idea, but works extremely well in practice. Presumably there will also be great opportunities to generate advertising sales: not only can you sell conventional ads, but I’d love to see manufacturers bidding to have their products used in the projects (and possibly the community voting on which product they think is the best solution). I’m excited to see how far Elektor can take this idea.
