Osbourne Clark reports on its marketing law blog that Facebook has relaxed its guidelines for promotions. In the world of Facebook, “promotions” applies to prize draws or sweepstakes.
For marketers that are looking to run small, focused promotion campaigns – i.e. many of us working in B2B technology – there are two key changes that will make things easier:

  • the promoter no longer has to commit to a minimum spend on media for advertising activity around the promotion
  • promoters are no longer required to obtain Facebook’s prior written approval before administering a promotion on Facebook
